Possibly, the following of the gestures for a long time during an oration tires the eyes producing a paralyzing effect on the nerve centers as referred to by Dr. Braid. Even animals can be hypnotized and it is possible to place a chicken's beak on the ground, draw a straight line in front of it and produce a temporary condition, in which the chicken apparently is unable to move. The mental condition is induced by physical methods, probably originated from stimuli through the ears or the eyes or auditory or the optic nerves.
Here is the patter, this is how it's set up. Get the rhythm and give it a try. Use your NEW voice.

The Relaxing Question:
Aren't you more impressed with what you've seen than what you thought you'd be when we started?

The Drivers Seat Statement:
Make'em feel in charge.
It's up to you, I'll work with you either way! (turn palms up to your heart - open to front again.

The Choice Question:
Razzle their dazzle.
Would you rather (big decision) or (small decision) ?

The Captured are released Statement:
Whew, I'm free (right? They relax - the planned stumble)
Which ever you decide to do is fine with me. (Break eye contact now. Be quiet, make them speak)

The decison quotient must outweigh the intelligence quotient for them to surrender their control to you! As in stage magic distraction of the senses allows many things to slip past them un-noticed. OK, re-study your basic sleight of hand, verbal and physical distractions and tricks.
Therein lie many concepts that you must realize beyond the trick itself. Apply yourself !

Visualization: Remember use visualization! Why, because the subconcious mind cannot tell the difference between reality and visualization... that's why! Just knowing this aspect should motivate you to trick yourself into a better frame of mind and higher levels of performance!

Relaxation: It is via relaxation that you access your subconcious mind. Breath slowly, be smooth in all you do. Will an air of calm confidence to exist about you like an aura. Breath slowly and link your breathing with your visualization practices. Roll your eyes upwards and hold them there for sixty seconds / three times a day. Boost your personal power often.

People intrepret the world in a variety of ways. By knowing which way your client, mark or target is inclined to perceive and interpret things is to possess a tremendous tactical - psychological edge over them. Once you ascertain their particular habits or ways, it becomes easier to blend in with them. To give them a feeling of friendship & trust is the goal. Then you follow that avenue toward accomplishing your goals.

Let's go one step deeper, shall we? I am referring to people who are either touch oriented (tactile), auditory oriented (listening-sound), cerebrally oriented (thought-intellect) or sight oriented (visual) or some combination of all the above. Once you know this about them then you can employ words, actions and ideas which appeal to them. They will retain more of whatever you share with them due to the fact that you are operating on their "frequency". It works like a charm, in fact it is part o the old world definition of "charm", also "fascination". Today we think of charm as mere good manners and proper social skills, but, in times past "Charm" was just that, a form a magic.... a Lucky Charm for instance. Or to "charm" someone like a snake charms a bird, it is an art lost from ages past. Here is a quote from an old book on magick. See if you can spot the correlations:

To charm others (to get your way) you must learn these gateways and paths into their psyche. From there, anything is possible for you. Many of you reading this have heard of such things all of your life, but you probably never thought you'd find them in such an unlikely place as Maajak World huh ? You can teach, sell, deceive, distract, motivate, crush, empower and envigorate them with this basic knowledge.

How do I find out which type of person that they are? (you may be asking about now)

That's the easy part! Employ your powers of observation and cunning, ascertain their inclinations and go in. Here's how you accomplish this feat without your subject ever knowing what has transpired around them:

1. Ask them a question (one which will make them stop and think for a minute)
Any question will do. "Say there my friend can you tell me what your spouse's mother's maiden name might be" ? (Or something to that effect) Another example: "OK, who can tell me quickly, what's 275 plus 1295 ? (the answer doesn't matter)....... just WATCH THEIR EYES after asking the nonsensical opener question.

2. Here's the KEY!
If their eyes move UPWARDS (brain)  - then this indicates a "thinker".... one who is cerebral over tactile. If they move their eyes side to side (ears)... then they are auditory based -- a listener over a toucher..  If they are looking downward after the magic question, then this indicates that they are tactile oriented -- a toucher --- a "hands on" sort of person (over one who only thinks). It's that SIMPLE. Now you know...

3. Wordsmith (examples below) what you say and how you say it to fit within their matrix of thought and perception. Use physical actions which fit their personality and which encourages the strengthening of what they already do-think-believe. (they'll eat that up, trust me on this). Using a scenario of teaching someone to shoot a pistol, let's look at each "type" of personality and how we'd address each of them on their own "frequency".

Examples:

TOUCH based:
"OK, let's get some hands on training going shall we? I want you to hold this pistol firmly, but not too tightly. Lean slightly forward, into the shot (touch their arm now) and I want you to feel the tension of the trigger on your index finger as you squeeze the trigger". Don't tense up when you shoot.. etc
Can you see how much "TOUCH" related words I have incorporated? (Hands On - Hold this pistol-not too tightly-lean forward-Feel the tension-squeeze the trigger-dont tense up)

AUDIO based:
"Ok, listen up my friend. Hold your pistol firmly and lean into the shot, ya hear what I'm say'in to ya? When I clap my hands you shoot the pistol, are we clear on this? Do ya have your ear plugs in ? (hearing protection) Don't let the bang of the gun startle you". etc....
Did you catch how many "LISTENING" words I employed? (listen up-ya hear what I'm saying-clap my hands (sound)-are we clear-are your ear plugs in-bang of the gun)

CEREBRAL based:
Ok, here are some things to consider (think about). Hold the pistol firmly, lean into the shot a bit. What I am explaining to you makes sense doesn't it? Don't think about the bang of the weapon, just let it happen. Focus your mind on the accomplishment of our goals etc
Look at how many ways I have used words related to thinking, thought and consideration! (things to consider-explaining-makes sense-don't think about the bang-focus your mind)

Ok, Ok ! You undoubtably have the idea / concept by now ! So, begin attempts to integrate this material into your real world endeavors. It can make a WORLD of difference. You can accurately forecast "success" using these methods of manipulation & control once mastered. ( a nice power to possess huh)?

Hypnotism is more than a sleep, it is a temporary elimination of the activity of the reasoning faculty. It is a mental condition in which the patient or the subject accepts as the full truth, any statement made to him by the hypnotist. It is a "re-routing" of the receipt of impressions; instead of the impressions passing through the sentinel of the reasoning faculty, they apparently go to the portion of the brain which controls the reflexes of the individual

Here are some of the gestures, to get you started in your own explorations. Note: As with any living language, there can be multiple shades of meaning, depending upon the context.

Offering Presence. Palms together, in the traditional gesture of prayer. Can be used as a non-verbal greeting, in order to frame our verbal communication within a larger context. This gesture is also used to convey the message that "I have full attention to offer," especially in response to the next gesture, "The Stirring".

The Stirring. Hands clasped, two index fingers pointing upward. Can be used to signal that "there is something stirring within". We tend to view this sign as a way of acknowledging and honoring what is taking place inside one's self, rather than as a "request" for "permission" to speak. (The latter perspective tends to reinforce the paradigm where the listener is "giving away" their power.) At the same time, a speaker who observes someone else making this sign may choose to respond by offering their attention, either immediately or at the next opportune moment.

Retreat. Hands fully clasped. Used to signal that one's attention is withdrawing or becoming unavailable. The speaker may continue to speak if he or she so wishes, but the listener shall not be held accountable for hearing any of it.

Pause. Hands clasped, pinkies pointing upwards. Used to request a pause, or to signal a brief interruption. For example, it can be used by a listener as a substitute for: "I'm really interested in what you are saying right now, and I need to take a break to use the bathroom." It could also mean that I am requesting a pause to process, and/or inviting you to take a breath.
